Radio Channel 4 Needs Veterans

Hello

I’m working on a BBC Radio 4 programme about the legacy of WWII, which explores how families have been shaped by the role their parents and grandparents played in the war, however for one of the documentaries possibly the last in the ten part series we would like to feature a more contemporary story from either the Iraq, Afghanistan or Bosnian/Serbian war.

I’m writing to you because I’m looking for veterans who are happy to share the legacy of their experience of war, particularly in terms of how it can effect your mental health because of trauma  and PSTD.

I'd also be very interested to interview a relative, either your mother or father or wife/husband/partner/ex- partner or children for their take on how the legacy of war can also impact on a family.

The series is narrated by the actor Sean Bean, if you would like to hear one of the documentaries that's already been broadcast then please click on this link here:  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000j94c

I can record interviews over mobile and it would take around an hour of your time.  I'd be looking to do this sometime over the next two weeks.  We do not have to use your real name if you do not wish too and we can offer an honorary fee of £100 for taking part.

I hope you're interested and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Kate
