Veterans First Point Tayside - New Drop In Schedule 2019

Veterans First Point Tayside Drop In schedule is set to change ever so slightly.  Drop In will now be on Monday's 09.30am-12md, Wednesday's 1.30pm-4pm & Friday's 09.30am-12md.

By offering Drop In over the Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Veterans First Point Tayside team are able to offer a more evenly spread support resource over the week, in that veterans and their families who may have attended the old Drop In schedule (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) are no longer left from a Wednesday to the following Monday without any option or opportunity to call into The Cottage via the Drop In service.

As well as the regular service of Drop In, the Veterans First Point Tayside team are delighted to announce the first (of many) Music Mornings.  The first Music Morning will be on Friday 05th April 2019 from 09.30am to 12md.  Veterans are welcome to come along for some live music provided by fellow veterans and just a good old jam session!  Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

On Friday’s the team plan to alternate the Music Mornings with other events and activities!  Details coming very soon!

The Drop In service is there to support and create activities for veterans and their families.  The Drop In service can provide advice and guidance on specific issues, however due to the open nature of Drop In, it is not always possible or suitable for personal situation discussions to take place.

This is whereby the Veterans First Point Tayside recommends that veterans and/or their families seek to make a confidential appointment with a Peer Support Worker, whereby confidentiality and time is afforded to help as best possible with the specifics of the situation/circumstances veterans may find themselves struggling to deal with and also allow Veterans First Point Tayside to make any follow up appointments on site (where possible) with colleagues from other veterans agencies.

To make a confidential appointment with a Peer Support Worker please contact the office on either 01382424029 or 07811471443 or vfp.tayside@nhs.net whereby an appointment will be scheduled at the earliest opportunity.
