V1P Tayside opened on 1st September 2015 and works along side Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership and NHS Tayside.  V1P Tayside is a well established team providing veterans services throughout the Tayside community covering Tayside- Dundee, Perthshire & Angus.

Our team consists of Veterans Peer Support Workers, Clinicians, Therapists and Administration staff.

Support we offer

Veterans First Point Tayside team offer a mixture of on site face-to-face appointments at The Cottage (Kings Cross Hospital Dundee) and at PRI {Friday clinical only; Peer Support Worker varies by need}.  We continue to offer and conduct NEAR ME and telephone appointments running in conjunction with the onsite appointments.

Due to being a small team we do kindly ask you contact the team via the methods below and only attend if you have a scheduled clinical and/or peer support appointment(s); this means we can ensure that a team member is available to speak to you and there is a room you can talk in confidentially.

Drop In's  -    Our Peer Support Workers offer a group "Walk and Talk" weekly. Day/Time changes weekly so please contact the team/join our mailing list to keep up to date. 

Referrals  -  The team continues to accept new referrals.  Please contact the team should you wish to make a referral and/or self refer.  For our clinical and veterans agencies colleagues, do call if you wish to discuss a particular case for referral suitability.

Meet the V1P Tayside Team

Dr Michelle Ramage, Clinical Lead Psychotherapist  -  Dr Ramage is the clinical lead for NHSTayside Adult Psychotherapy services as well as V1PTayside.  Dr Ramage has extensive experience delivering psychotherapy treatment to veterans and civilians and in leading mental health services in the community and hospital setting.  Dr Ramage can be contacted at the V1PTayside office. 

Dr Duncan Davidson, Deputy Clinical Lead Psychotherapist - Duncan is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). He has been working in mental health since 2008. Duncan has expertise in working with highly complex adults and specialises in working with Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. He takes a person centred and recovery orientated approach integrating acceptance and compassion into the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) he provides.

Jon Webster, Senior Adult Psychotherapist  - Jon is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and an accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist. Jon works three days a week with V1P Tayside. Jon provides comprehensive mental health assessments and brokers care to other services as well as providing specialist evidence-based psychotherapy to veterans and their family members. Jon has a wide experience of both individual and group based approaches, and he has a particular interest in complex trauma. Jon can be contacted via the V1P Tayside office.

David Cruickshanks, Peer Support Worker - David spent over 2 years as a Peer Support Worker with SAMH before joining V1P Tayside in October 2021. David was in the Royal Navy for 5 plus years and served as a Marine Engineering Mechanic ( Electrical) onboard HMS Fearless during The Falklands War and returned to The Falklands in 2013 to help in his own mental health recovery. David has worked with several Veterans' organisations including Legion Scotland. David has recently completed an SQA Level 7 qualification in Mental Health Peer Support. David can be contacted via the V1PTayside office.

Laura Milligan, Team Administrator - Laura joined V1PTayside in April 2021. Laura has worked within Administrative Services since 2015 and her last post was as a Receptionist within Adult Mental Health Services in Dundee. As the daughter of two Royal Navy veterans, she has a genuine interest in the service. Laura can be contacted at the V1PTayside office, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
