Temporary Housing
If you are in need of short term temporary housing or
accommodation, the two best sources of help are your
local area housing office and the housing section on
Veterans Scotland.
With Veterans' Scotland, you will find a host of information,
and especially useful is the housing section. All
service-related agencies that can provide short term housing are
listed and integrated via this section and provide advice across
all housing projects throughout Scotland.
Again, there are special housing initiatives for ex-service
personnel who may have mental health issues and Scottish Veterans Residencies are
the experts in this field.
The Erskine Foundation is soon to open
a new facility in the Gilmerton area of Edinburgh (Aug 2009).
Another MoD department is the Joint Services Housing Advice
Office (JSHAO) which may be able to offer support during your
transition from the military.
